This book is a "must have" for anyone diagnosed or caring for someone who is diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. Even though I have already had the surgery I found the book to be very helpful when discussing the disease with friends and colleagues. It takes a lot of soul searching to come up with the right course of treatment to follow. The many different experiences related here could make a difference in the way you feel or reassure you that you are on the right track. I found the detail to be very true to my experience and I only wish I had this book 4 years ago when I was diagnosed.The one thing that I brought away from my reading was that I was not alone, and that was the major thought in my mind when the call came in from my Urologist! I urge anyone who has or supports someone who has prostate cancer to read this book!YOU ARE NOT ALONE....

They also admit becoming flooded at times themselves, normalizing the fact that therapists are also human beings with our own triggers in a really challenging profession. I do wish one of the principles included more information on attachment theory; a theory which can help highlight critical underlying emotional dynamics in couples therapy.In considering negative reviews of the chapter, "Suspend Moral Judgement when Treating Affairs," I think it’s important to note that effective couples therapy involves taking a both/and approach, rather than an either/or stance. I've been working my way through the Gottman therapist training (finished level 3 and heading towards starting the certification). This book is an excellent bridge between the training materials and the more academic books. It directly speaks to the "how to" in a wonderful, accessible way. I have been recommending it to my practicum and intern students who are just starting to learn some of the fundamentals of couple's therapy.

Gottman continues to show such brilliance, delicacy, thoroughness, and depth in his work, while still making it an approachable read. He's still the best

tedious, again I want skills not a essay on how well these folk worked together.

Such a wonderful read. John's style of writing is much different from that of Julie's. If you enjoy metaphors and analogies, read this one first.

I highly recommend this book because the content is rarely seen in the books about the Holy Spirit. In her first book she delves into who the Holy Spirit is and goes into detail about all the Spiritual gifts, as given in 1st Corinthians 12! It also helped the reader to come to know and love the Holy Spirit as a Person and to experience an intimate, life changing relationship with Him. She does more than to inform with knowledge and experience, but with the Word of God. In addition, I find her writing style refreshing. Even though much is learned, the writing style feels fresh to the reader and one can really get into the text. !! Also sometime that is amazing is that she not only teaches what the gifts of the Spirit are, like many of the the other books do, but guides the reader PRACTICALLY how to operate and grow in these Spiritual gifts! Now, in her second book !!! She not only goes deeper and builds on the first book, revealing more details and practical guidance on how to operate the power gifts of the Spirit, but also how these power gifts can be used with the service gifts!. She shows us how service work works closely alongside and not separately from the full range of supernatural gifts as outlined by 1st Corinthians 12, for example, the word of Knowledge, word of Wisdom, healing, the work of Miracles, the gift distinguishing of spirits, and gift of faith, and of tongues, and the interpretation of tongues, and prophecy ! How do we use these precious spiritual gifts God gave to us by his grace with our talents, with encouragement, giving, mercy, ministry, service, helps, for example, and how to use it alongside the offices of Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers. She guides the reader step by step how these are related, again, as in the first book, with her testimony and experience, and the Word of God. If you haven't read her 1st book. I feel blessed and much better equipped after reading both book !!! I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to continue to be more intimate with God, and to understand and use their spiritual gifts better, and to use these gifts to serve others and to spread the Gospel boldly to the ends of the earth !.

Rohrer uses her background as a TV/Movie producer, screenwriter, director, and author to expertly weave a flowing narrative, regardless of the genre of book project she explores at the time. I have read all of Rohrer’s previous nonfiction titles (The Holy Spirit – Spiritual Gifts: Book 1, Is God Saying He’s the One?, Secrets of the Dry Bones) and her entire Redeeming fiction series. The latter were novels with wholesome, beautiful, romantic themes that I’ve reviewed from my point of view of a minister. Rohrer’s novels are fast moving, dynamic, with the high-quality dialogue you would find in one of her screenplays or movies.It is that literary quality that the reader will find in her second book in the Illuminated Bible Study Guides series, The Holy Spirit – Spiritual Gifts: Book 2: Surprisingly Supernatural Service Gifts. What Susan Rohrer has done in this comprehensive study of the Gifts of the Spirit, examined in detail, fleshed out with the appropriate in-context Scripture and with the healthiest dose of personal story and testimony, is just remarkable. Good book but it lots the attention of my 3 and 5 year old towards the end. Great story and very interesting but wasn't as engaging as I had hoped. I bought it sight unseen because I wanted something new to read with kids for upcoming snow storm. I was hoping there would have been more of Bentley's photographs of snowflakes contained in the book.Beautiful pictures, great story, well written but putting it aside until next year to see if it is more interesting to them then.

This book is wonderful tribute to Mr. Bentley who spent his life exploring the unique world of snowflakes! The story features wonderful pictures to compliment this children's biography. I would recommend this to those who work with elementary students, and parents who enjoy good read aloud books with their children. As a grandparent I had the pleasure to give this as a gift and then read along with my grandson. A lovely detailed book about discovery, family, and commitment!

This is such a great narrative non-fiction. It has great asides with more detail and really interests the kids. My class loved making paper snowflakes after reading this.

Great story about the first man who photographed a snowflake. I used this book in my preschool classroom for a Wonders of Winter unit. We learned all about Wilson Bentley, his love of nature and especially SNOWFLAKES! I made an inspiration board with some of Mr. Bentley's photographs and the students loved trying to re-create his masterpieces.

When I see a book that has won the Caldecott Medal, I am usually wondering as I go in, what is so special about it? And here, in this case, being slightly unimpressed, it reminds me of the Oscars or the Emmys...what one man says is outstanding might not always be to my (or someone else's) taste.This is a very good book, no doubt about that, written by Jacqueline Briggs Martin and illustrated by Mary Azarian (my favorite parts are the woodcut snowflakes), but it lacks the personal touch, the warmth of the other bio about "Snowflake Bentley" ~ "My Brother Loved Snowflakes," by Mary Bahr and illustrated by Laura Jacobsen.The woodcut illustrations are well-done, but are not as much "fun" as the smooth, wonderfully colorful pastels and stencils of Ms. Jacobsen, and the story is told more matter-of-factly than the other book.Even tho' I am pleased to have both in my library, having been a huge fan of Mr. Bentley for many years, I would go to the second tome more often than the first, if I were to ever pick them up for light reading...and to introduce my new Grandson to the wonders of Nature, especially the beauty of snow and ice and other microscopic sights.Yes, as I sit and reflect on the fact that one is a so-called award winner and one is not, I have to say that, unlike other critics and "experts," I will continue to trust my own instincts ~ and my own heart.

There is something for everyone in this book. It can be difficult to find a non-fiction story, particularly an autobiography, told in a way that will fascinate the very young. This book does just that - but fascinates the more mature reader as well - including grade school students and adults. The story of Mr. Bentley is told in a very charming way with warm and pleasing pictures, and easy to read and follow text. You could learn quite a bit just by reading the story line. But as an added bonus, there were side bars that added even more historical information - so you could go back and read that yourself if your little one was not quite ready to hear that level of detail. These captions were not intrusive - the way I personally find the Magic School Bus captions to be - but rather side bars that you could read (or not read) at your own discretion. One of the nice things about Mr. Bentley's autobiography - is that you can learn some history, you can learn some science, and you can also simply enjoy the story of a man who was passionate about what he did.

This is such a wonderful book! It makes reading a biography interesting for younger readers, the pictures are nice, and the whole concept of photographing snowflakes is so intriguing.

I love this book! It is a great science book, biography book, picture book, and more. A pleasure to view and read. We owe a debt to Snowflake Bentley for his selfless dedication to scientific research. We are also much indebted to the talented author and to the inspired illustrator for bringing us this story so beautifully. I have a copy for myself, sent one to my granddaughter, and sent another to my mother! Loved by all. Makes a great gift for book lovers, science lovers, and art lovers of any age, though targeted audience is probably picture book readers and younger elementary readers. Can't say enough about how worthwhile, well-done, and enjoyable this book is. You will want one of these in your personal library for the children in your life, and for yourself.

Holy Moly, this book was SPICY! I had previously read Theirs To Protect by this author, and it was so funny and cute that I immediately bought her entire catalog. I started reading Virgin Next Door expecting more of the same: lots of laughs, quirky situations, multiple partners but not too graphic sex. I also had no idea this was MMF. Usually I don't like those type of books, at all. I prefer all the attention to be on the woman, but somehow Stasia was able to write some steaming hot scenes without making the woman seem like the third wheel or just a toy/ploy to enable the men to get together (which is a mistake other authors fall into).The writing style is good! So good. Stasia doesn't have a zillion grammatical and spelling errors, and instead she spends time on each character, peeling back their stories and letting you in to care about them as a person. You want these three to end up together. You genuinely like them. The story is a great read and you actually have a bit of a plot and a well-written, developed story line. And did I mention, the sex is freaking hot?! I've read hundreds of romance novels, no joke, and this book is in the top 5 ultra steamy, dirty talk, hits all the right buttons, OMG did he do that books I've ever read. After reading the very first scene I had to put the book down at 2am and wake up my husband who was blissfully snoozing away next to me, and talk him into some half awake sexy time. That never happens with books; I can read romances in the waiting room at the vet and not get hot and bothered, but this book made me squirmy and wet. TMI? Well what did you expect, you're buying an erotic MMF hot tattooed ex-con cowboy book! ;)

How do three self-avowed Ugly Ducklings get together? This 5-star novel is an emotionally revealing portrayal of three unlikely people getting hotter and hotter for each other. Really well written. Absorbing and satisfying. The detailed descriptions of how each person in the new ménage began to notice and care for little quirks of the others, especially between the two men, brought depth to the romance and sex. I feel like I really observed maybe for the first time how an MMF threesome could work, and how love could develop. The evolving sex was fascinating. The deeper than expected attraction and resisted yet growing compassion the two tough guys felt for each other was new and uniquely insightful for this genre of romance.I do wish the author would have woven into the book more corelation between the powerful quote in the Preface, about the Ugly Duckling's lesson being to see the beauty you have always had hidden inside yourself, to the growth of each of the three partners in coming to acknowledge their own individual worth, and worthiness to others. This powerful and hopeful message could have been a bit more obviously developed.

This was an MFM erotic romance and be advised that there is some M/M action.Each of the three main characters had been dealt a pretty rough life. Although it was sad to read about how much they had to endure if was awesome to see them fall in love with each other.Plot was good.Characters were individual and independently defined through their mannerisms and talk.Sex was Hot!And always important to me - a Happy Ever After Ending.I'll definitely be reading more of Stasia Black!

Enjoyed every moment of Liam, Mack and Callas story. A rich boy playing poor, a con man with a chip on his shoulder, and a virgin farm girl who has just lost her home, and needs to pay for herdads treatment, even if he blames her for everything. Mack sets his sights on Calla, bit Liam, who definitely has a hate-hate relationship with Mack is determined to beat him to her. Calla has never been pursued by anyone before, considering she has always dressed and acted like a boy, trying to keep her daddy happy, so she has no idea what to do with either of them. An unlikely trio to say the least. Stasia has done it again.

Not a wordsmith but this book ..... there are not enough positive descriptors to give to do it justice. There were so many times I had to stop and just take a breath, the story line was too much to handle. I just love Calla, Mack and Liam! They are the epitome of all that’s ugly, sweet , and beautiful about love and relationships! This one is a treasure that will be enjoyed repeatedly! Thank you Stasia for this beautiful story!

To take 3 characters from opposite ends and opposite views on everything and somehow bring them together in the most beautiful way. Each with their own ugly, learning to love that about each other. The book is dirty but beautiful.

This was my first gay/bisexual romance. I'm not sure I could get used to two men alone, but putting a woman between the two of them made it an easier read. The story itself does imply that as well. The men could not love each other alone. They wanted the woman too. However, I had a difficult time accepting that a virgin would instantly warm up to giving herself to two men, (much less two bi-men) at the same time, before she actually experienced sex for the first time. That is why I only gave it four stars. Nevertheless, I always like a good drama to go along with the sex and romance. The family illness, and the life-long rivalry with the town debutante(tramp) adds a more human touch to the characters. Mack's past story alone would have made a good book all by itself. Maybe there is one but I haven't read it yet.

I've decided to break my review into three sections as well. This one is for her drop cookies. There are a ton of recipes in this section and it was honestly hard to narrow down my selection. I decided to make the chocolate-covered strawberry cookies. These cookies will be perfect for our Valentine's Day bake sale at church!All of us loved these cookies, even Scott who is not a huge strawberry fan.

My wife and I like every cookie we have tried so far. There is a wonderful variety of different types of cookies with different types of ingredients. I have found that I can easily alter the basic recipe (e.g., substituting a different favor cake mix, making the cookies bigger or smaller, etc.) and still have good results. I love the peanut butter cookies--they are not as oily as traditional recipes and the under-flavor of the cake mix gives them interest!

I made several of the recipes from this book and packed them in tins for Christmas gifts. My coworkers raved about the cookies and asked for the recipes. They truly are time saver recipes and amazingly easy to make. I have been very happy with every creation so far. One of the recipes includes cut-up Rolos. Tastes amazing!

Purchased this cookbook only because I've seen the author on a couple of recipe contests. Enjoyed her and hoped her cookbook would be just as good. And it is. The recipes are very easy to follow, simple to use and yummy.Only reason for the 4 star rating is I wished there were more images of the recipes. Other than that great purchase. Will continue to use for many years.

I love a quick fix and this book has many different ways to make my cookies great and save time. May not be scratch, but are surely homemade.What every working mom needs on hand for a quick desert fix.

I made 8 recipes from this book following exact measurements. The recipes called for the cookies to cool completely on a cooling rack.. Once they are cooled, I put them in airtight container for later. All the batches I made were soggy!I don't know why these cookies do this with the cake mixes & packs these recipes call for. I know the instructions were followed thru and there is no way ALL the cookies would be soggy. Don't waste your money onn this book, I am returning it cause the recipes are just not good at all! These raves and 5 stars have to come from bakers who did not let their cookies sit for a day or two. Believe me they are NOT good recipes
