Nice organiser! I'm finding it useful for tracking my spending and keeping on top of my finances. I'm loving the layout!
I purchased this to get my husband and I on a much better track to getting our spending in order and getting debt paid off once and for all. After spending some time perusing the numerous choices on Amazon, I settled on this book and I cannot be more happy! Sure, it takes some time in the beginning to work up your first budget, but, people, this is a GOOD THING. It made me really take the time to look at our spending overall, and then the pages which have you fill in your daily spending have already opened my eyes and have me excited to be on the road to more financial freedom!So, what's included:1. Each month has a budget for you to fill in. While I've only used it for January 2019 thus far, I like that I have the opportunity to update the budget for February, March, etc, as this is what I want as we intend to tweak as we become more aware of where our money is going.2. Each month has a space for you to fill in your daily spending, with a description and a total. It's 8 days over a 2-page spread. There is also an area for you to total what you spent in an entire week. At the end of the month is a page for you to reflect on what you've learned from tracking your spending for a month and to reflect on what you can do better. I think this is crucial for changing how we view our finances and spend our money.It's 12 months and you don't HAVE to begin in January -- as the awesome quote says in the beginning of the book, if you're beginning in another month, just start there and return to January when you get there! It's not dated which is helpful as well. There is a ton of room to easily write and the paper is good quality; it stood up to me erasing the same areas over and over.Bottom line: if you're looking to get on and stick to a budget, as well as look for ways to cut back on spending, I truly believe this is the book for you!
Nice layout. Very cumbersome to record that much detail. I teach a personal finance class at the college and I can say that I was considering making this book a required buy. But I couldn’t even keep up with it for a full month. But the monthly budget and monthly recap are really nice features. I’d say it would be better to eliminate all the “days†and keep one large spending diary for the week.
This book requires that I make a budget, take the time out to (honestly) write down my daily spending, calculate my weekly totals and track my spending throughout the month. Every time I write in this book I feel shame. There is something different about looking at an app and seeing my spending vs forcibly writing it down doing the math. The name of the book makes complete sense because that is EXACTLY what I tell myself I need to do everytime I close it.This may be me just being picky by I do wish it were hardcover, or had a more durable make. If not left on a shelf all the time, it will fall apart over the course of 12 months. I also wish I'd known it started in January. I bought the book in September so began 75% in and will work my way to the front and back down again, which is awkward.But this books serves the purpose it is meant to, and that is what's most important.
Pretty disappointed that the months are already calculated and dated in the book, but otherwise it’s a good tool to have. Definitely well organized and makes budget planning a breeze. Again just wish it wasn’t already dated. Not sure how I’m going to make it work now considering it starts in January and it’s september now. February has 29 days so I’m going to have to figure out how to draw two more in somehow. Womp womp.
This budget planner has allowed me to see where my money is going and also show me where I can cut back on expenses that are unnecessary. Those starbuck runs and eating out can add up more than I realized. Plus forcing me to write down each day what've I've spent makes me really think if what I'm getting is a need or just a want.
It gives you a guideline and a monthly/weekly budget planner to use but it limits you with your options of what charges go where and assumes you have family costs. I used it for the first few weeks after purchase but have not used it since. I switched to a google doc template. Save your money and do the same.
This book has helped us to create a meaningful budget and put our spending into perspective. Love what it has done for us!
